ABOUT
The Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary (RWS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps wild animals and their habitats thrive through a unique harmony of wildlife rehabilitation, public education, and community collaboration. Every year, RWS treats over 900 injured and orphaned wild animals from across Central Virginia and beyond with the goal of releasing them back to the wild. While the majority of patients come from Albemarle, Charlottesville, Nelson, Fluvanna, and Louisa counties, RWS receives wild animals from over 60 Virginian counties each year! RWS's team of licensed rehabilitators provide compassionate, professional care to every single patient based on its natural history. Whether caring for a white-footed mouse or a Great Horned Owl, RWS believes that every wild animal deserves a second chance at life in the wild.
In addition to the organization's rehabilitation work, RWS offers educational programs to audiences of all ages featuring their team of non-releasable education ambassador animals. The Sanctuary's programming reaches thousands of Virginians annually at these events, and countless more through their educational social media. The Sanctuary strives to create a world that understands our wild neighbors and their needs, fostering a brighter future for our communities - wildlife and human. Tattoos will only be performed indoors, in sanitary conditions, by trained professionals.
Clients will be addressed on a “first come/first serve” basis, no appointments will be taken. Please do not DM artists prior to the event as no special privileges will be given.
Time consuming designs may be rejected or suggestions will be made to accommodate a 90 minute time limit per tattoo. This allows the artists to serve the most people they can for the cause.
Tattoos are priced by the artist and by the piece (not by the hour), and are non-negotiable. Please refrain from price shopping between artists. This is about supporting a great cause - our goal is to raise as much as we can for charity while providing quality tattoos at a fair price. Tipping artists is at client’s discretion.
Cash is the preferred method of payment to ensure 100% goes to charity and not to a bank. However - debit, Visa, and MasterCard will also be accepted.
YOU MUST BE 18 OR OLDER to get tattooed. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
YOU MUST HAVE A GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID, drivers license, Virginia ID card, passport, or resident alien card.
YOU MUST BE SOBER TO GET TATTOOED.

MISSION STATEMENT
We use our time, treasure, and talent to enrich and add value to the community we are blessed to be a part of by creating events marrying the support of non-profits with what we do best: tattooing.
ABOUT TIME, TREASURE,
AND TALENT
If the pandemic has done anything for me, it has given a serious and significant time of reflection. Self-introspection, examining blessings, assessing gifts. As weeks grew to months, I found myself recognizing what’s truly important, through that lens refocusing, reprioritizing from self to others. Specifically, the needs of others in the deficit of compassion it seems the world is experiencing. I became acutely aware of the abundance in my life, in the knowledge that my needs have always been met, and realizing just how rich my journey has been. Giving back, creating a lasting positive impact, meeting the needs of those without, and enriching the journey of others, became a purpose and a passion.

Pondering how best to accomplish this, I looked to what I know. Art has always been the cornerstone of my life as far back as I could remember. A retreat, a safe haven, a fountain of creativity flowing forth both comfort and purpose. It seemed sound logic to utilize what I know best to initiate, facilitate, and champion a positive impact on my community. A community that for the past two decades has filled my cup to overflowing. Giving me a home, a family, a sense of belonging, and a whole lot of love. Time, Treasure, and Talent was created as a means of supporting that community. Giving those around us in need the three things we have to give... time, treasure, and talent.
Central Virginia is more than where I live, it’s where my heart is. I fell indebted to this place and the people, so many of whom have inspired me. People like Amy Benson of Moose’s by the Creek in Charlottesville, who has hosted more benefits for Central Virginia charities than I could count. Chris Long of NFL fame, whose generosity and encouragement has been a motivating force in this project. Kenny Brown and Chance Kenyon of Jack Brown’s Tattoo Revival in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the hosts of “Tattoos for the Community” annually, which just celebrated its 14th year! Their inspiration and influence have been fundamental, as I worked to understand as to how I, Ben Around Tattoos, and tattooing in general, could build a partnership with the Central Virginia non-profits working to build our community every day. It is in their spirit that we move forward presenting Time, Treasure, and Talent....
